Frequently Asked Questions

  1. CHECK FOR CORRECTNESS

It is the customer’s responsibility to confirm that the parts received during a delivery match the parts listed on an invoice.

  2. RETURN PROMPTLY

Parts returns must be called in within 30 days of the purchase date. Parts returned after this 30-day period may be subject to a restocking fee. Parts returned after 6 months of the purchase date may not be accepted.

  3. NO INSTANT CREDIT

A return authorization must be processed in order to receive full credit. Returns that have not been received and evaluated by our staff may not be used as payment towards any deliveries or open balances. On a case-by-case basis, with explicit authorization of our office, returns may be used as a pending credit —pending evaluation of the returns by our staff.

  4. USE YOUR CREDITS

Credits from returned parts should be used within 90 days of the date that the parts were returned. After this 90-day period has elapsed credit from returns may be forfeited.

  5. KEEP CLEAN AND IN PACKAGE

Unused parts should be returned in their original packaging and in a re-sellable condition for full credit to be issued. Damage, excessive dirt, or an otherwise poor condition of a return can reduce the amount of credit issued at the discretion of our evaluation staff.

  6. NO ALTERATIONS

Part returns that have been painted, damaged, or altered in any way are considered non-sellable. Parts returned in a non-sellable condition will not be credited.

  7. NO CERTIFICATION SEAL REMOVAL

The removal of the CAPA or NSF seal from a certified part renders the part non- sellable. CAPA or NSF parts returned with the seal removed will not be credited.

  • This warranty applies to any vehicle registered in the 50 states of the U.S.A. and normally operated in the 50 states of the U.S.A.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED:

  • Non-certified chrome bumpers are not covered under this warranty.
  • This warranty does not include any costs involved in installation or replacement, nor does it cover failure of perforation resulting from accident, damages, abuse, chemical corrosion or improper installation. The warranty does not cover costs involved with paint or preparation, or the materials to paint or prepare parts.
  • This warranty does not extend to commercial vehicles or fleet vehicles.
  • EMPIRE AUTO PARTS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising out of the use of its parts.
  • Some states do not allow exclusion of limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
  • This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that may vary from state to state.

To keep with certain insurance company and computer estimating service guidelines, EMPIRE AUTO PARTS will reimburse labor charges for installation of parts found to be defective after installation.

Reimbursement will be made on the following basis:

  • The auto repair shop representative must inform us of the problem at the time of discovery. At that time, we will at our option, send a technician to inspect the problem or authorize the repair facility to provide documentation that clearly represents the problem. In order to properly submit a claim to our manufacturers, all labor claims must be accompanied by pictures.
  • It shall always be the responsibility of the purchaser to check parts for correctness and defects prior to preparation and installation. There shall be no compensation made for work performed in error.
  • Any repair facility that has been delinquent in payments shall have waived their right to claim compensation for labor.
  • Labor reimbursement will be paid for the area in which the part/parts are located. Labor times will be taken from the most current edition of the Mitchell Estimating Guide. No reimbursement will be made for adjacent parts, blend or prep times.
  • The rates set in this policy are as follows:
    • REF (Refinish) = $40.00 per hour
    • R&I (Remove/Install) = $40.00 per hour
    • P&M (Paint/Materials) = $20.00 per hour

EMPIRE AUTO PARTS' policy on labor reimbursement is designed to permit quality control follow-up and protection from frivolous claims of poor fit. Important information can be gained by on-site inspection of defective parts.
